Overbooked flights

A flight is overbooked when a passenger with a confirmed seat arrives at the check-in counter or at the gate within the given deadlines only to discover that there are no seats left on board, i.e. the number of passengers with confirmed reservations exceeds the number of seats available on board the aircraft. Should such a situation occur, the passenger is entitled to claim compensation in accordance with prevailing legal provisions, so-called “denied-boarding compensation”.
