These guidelines for personal security apply to the website Norwegian.no and Norwegian’s other distribution channels.
Gathering and use of personal information
We only collect the personal information you provide which is necessary to carry out our contractual obligations to you, in accordance with legal requirements.
Your personal information will only be used for other reasons or be provided to third parties, with your consent or when it is necessary for us to be able to carry out our obligations to you.
It is sometimes necessary to provide information to Norwegian's representative offices, associated companies or agents, both in Norway and abroad.
Your personal information can also be used for other legal purposes, and when it is necessary to protect Norwegian as a company, as well as its rights, employees, customers or the general public. In such events the third party will only have access to the specific information they require.
Norwegian gathers specific information about the hard- and software you use. This information is used for our operations, to maintain the quality of our service and to provide general statistics concering the use of Norwegian.no
Norwegian also gathers information about which pages the customer visits at Norwegian.no This data about page visits is identified only through a unique ID number, and is not connected to other personal information unless consent is given.
”Your profile”
If you willingly register a personal profile on Norwegian.no and sign up for a newsletter, you will be able to see, edit and remove any personal information saved in "Your profile". You will be asked to provide a username and password before you have access to this information.
Access
You have the right to see what personal information we hold about you. You can apply to see this information by contacting us in the manner described below. You can gain access to the personal information stored in “your profile” in the manner described above.
Removal
You have the right to demand that Norwegian removes your personal information once it is no longer necessary for Norwegian to keep, except where Norwegian is legally obliged to keep this information. Norwegian will also remove unnecessary personal information on its own initiative, when this is no longer required.
You can remove any personal information saved in ”your profile” as and when you want. If your account in ”your profile” has remained inactive for 24 months, the account and all the information it contains will be removed by Norwegian. A request for the removal of personal information can be made by contacting us in the manner bescribed below.
Safety of your personal information
Norwegian uses several security technologies to protect personal information against unauthorised access, use or transmission. For example we save the personal information you provide on a server with limited access in security-monitored locations. When we transfer sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) on the internet, we protect this using encryption, including the SSL protocol (Secure Socket Layer).
To ensure that other parties do not gain access to your personal information, anyone who contacts Norwegian with questions concerning booked journeys or similar must provide a reference code and the credit card with which the booking was made.
